Sad and lonely place!! I’m an alumni student 2013 from this campus and it’s sad to see Campus so empty, not what it used to be ..It feels like you are in an apocalypse. They renovated some areas on the campus which is nice but who uses those spaces…only a few. Classrooms are empty, areas empty it’s scary. Went to the cantina and closed early so if you want to get a coffee forget it .. or if you are hungry and want something warm … nope…be aware of the vending machines some of them will steal your money
Frequent issues with nobody answering the phone especially for something important like the testing center. Called multiple times for two hours and nobody answered. Many of those I know have had similar problems. The only way they'll only help you is if you spend half your day in person which not many can. Just have someone to answer the phone and this wouldn't be as big a problem.
After taking ESOL in 1981 graduated with AA then BBA IN FIU. This was my favorite college and my son received his AA before transferring to FIU also. Today, the ESOL department is disorganized, calls are picked up when transferred from main number and disconnected on the language department on purpose. I seriously regret recommending this school to my relative that is trying to take ESOL. There’s no excuse because there’re no more immigrant students than in early 80s. Avoid this school if you have a relative in same situation. My son driving his cousin over, but I think we would have to take him to a more reliable respectful school to learn English. Such a shame!
I currently attend this college and only seem to have issues with the departments such as financial, admissions, and bursars office. The employees do not give proper help as well when asked about an issue they all have something different to say and the issue never gets resolved. I've shown up in person multiple days in a row since admissions kept telling me one thing but was doing another thankfully Claudia from admissions assisted me but the people who work at the front desk of admissions have no clue what they are doing. MDC needs to re train employees to assist correctly and to answer questions and be more in contact with students because when we need help, the help is not there for us to receive.
MDC Kendall an amazing experience as a student. Professors are kind, professional and want to help you succeed. The campus is beautiful! It needs a lil more color though 🎉😀 …
Nobody speaks English, language of America. The teach in espanolo. I had to quit. Lost money. They laughed when asked why. Awful. Don't go.
Had a tour there it was very nice. Very explanatory, had several career and major choices to explore. Very Friendly staff.
Regret coming to this school everyday!!!!!!!!!! If I could give a zero I would. Worst school. School is like a desert, cafeteria is never opened, just the expensive cafes. Rude librarians. Heavily funded but don’t see where the money goes to. Lack of professionalism everywhere. Kids doing jobs, adults at the jobs are beyond lazy.
There’s a selective few in advisory that actually care. The rest in Bursar, financial aid, etc is just a complete waste of time, money, and energy.
Karen from Bursar office is rude, lack empathy, and have a strong attitude. It’s obvious her position is simply for $$. She works with no type of urgency. She does not reply to emails. Hoping Miami Dade College takes this review seriously and have better management in sake of students.
I emailed HR on 4/5/23 asking for help with my Florida retirement documents. Never got a response. Left several phone mail messages. Never got a response. When over there to an office that looks more like a high security prison, to find out no one will be able to help me and that I have to go back to step 1. I have to call them to get an appointment. I stoped working with mdcc 18 years ago and they still the worst in customer service for students and general public.
This school is extremely disorganized. I want to complain about Gabriella the employee working at the deans office. She is very rude, hung up on me and then said she put me on hold, said “do you want the email address or not because you are being really disrespectful”. She then proceeded to transfer me to a line that is not connected. She should not work here. I’ve already emailed her boss but she needs to be told how to do her job.
